In the late 90’s we installed VSAT systems in
Africa and the Middle East to carry our own telephone traffic, and when we
found an abandoned teleport for sale in Miami we jumped on the opportunity,
sent an engineering team to rebuild it and began operation. We are no longer
a telephone company, today we devote all of our efforts to the satellite
industry.
Over time our teleport clients would ask us to find them a modem, a
transceiver or some other piece of equipment. As these requests became more
frequent we decided to devote two full time employees to buying and selling
satellite equipment, and New Era Systems was born.
Today we still provide single items of equipment, but in addition we build
complete systems ranging from the tiny KU terminal to the full sized
antennas and HPAs used by major teleports.
Our largest client base is the Cyber Café market in Africa and South
America, with many years of experience we can provide the exact combination
of satellite and Internet equipment required by a successful Cyber Café
Owner.
Occasionally we offer used equipment at high discounts, purchased from
clients who have upgraded to larger systems. The used equipment is tested
and guaranteed to be in good working condition. Used VSAT equipment is not
plentiful and we cannot guarantee being able to find cheap hardware at any
given time. Used VSAT equipment is always advertised as being “Used” and in
most cases we provide photographs to show the appearance of the item.
Our new systems feature manufacturers such as Prodelin, Patriot, Anacom,
Codan, Comtech EFData, NJRC, Datum, Cisco and Paradise. The exact mix of
manufacturers is decided based upon the VSAT configuration.
When we were new to the business we had a poor experience buying equipment
from a large satellite supplier who shipped the equipment but forgot to tell
us that we needed a cable from the router to the satellite modem. After
losing four weeks and six hundred dollars we vowed never to let that happen
to OUR clients.
